Rose Burlock

Rose has always loved animals, but her pet of choice would have to be dogs. Rose and her husband never had the opportunity to own a dog until April of 1990, when they purchased a Bishon/Shihtzu two month old puppy name Casey. He became their closest friend for seventeen years. Unfortunately, shortly after his seventeenth birthday it was time to say final their goodbye.

Their plans were to purchase another puppy and take the time to train him and hope to be blessed with many more years of having another pup around the house. However, life seemed to have a different direction for them.

Their second dog came from the SPCA. Rose and her husband had checked him out often and knew that he needed a home as soon as possible. Little did they know that if he wasn't adopted within the week, he would have been put down. Once they found out after he was adopted, they were so thankful that they'd made the right choice. He was a Cocker Spaniel Cross by the name of "Barney" and it didn't take long to love him. Barney was ten years old and he had a second chance of life, with them, he had four more wonderful years.

Rose and her husband missed (and still do!) their four legged friends very much, but they didn't stop there. Now, they have two more dogs in their lives; Mikey a black and white Shihtzu Cross, three years old and Tikka a brown female Bishon/Shihtzu. Both dogs came from unwanted families and are super dogs and love anyone that comes over for a visit; two or four legged friends, it doesn't matter to them.

Rose doesn't think they will ever have the opportunity of purchasing a puppy again as there are so many dogs out there that need that second chance of a new life.

During the time that Rose has worked with Love Your Pet she's met so many furry friends. Even though some have passed on, she stills thinks of and misses them often.

She believes that as a dog walker "you become such a part of their lives as they become a part of my life".
