Lindsay Gilroy

Born and raised in Calgary, Lindsay discovered early in her life her love for animals of all kinds. From a young age Lindsay surrounded herself with animals of all sizes; dogs, cats, fish and hamsters. Lindsay would walk the neighbour's dogs, bathe them and just hang out. It was evident from this early age that she had a special gift for connecting with animals and thus she helped raise their family dog, Major, whom the family had for 14 years. And now is the person her family calls when they have an issue with a pet.

Lindsay now lives with two cats that are her shadow whenever she is at home.

Lindsay has previously worked with the Calgary Humane Society and found the experience extremely rewarding. While employed there Lindsay had the opportunity of completing courses such as feline body language; touching; canine body language; and safe animal handling – to list a few, all helped her grow in the understanding of animals and how they connect with us.

It was not uncommon for friends to visit Lindsay's home on a weekend and meet the different pets she would be fostering. It was a difficult decision to leave the Calgary Humane Society to branch off and work as a vet's assistant. However, this proved to be a invaluable opportunity for her as it helped her understand the science of animals. When she held a newborn pup in her hand and rubbed life into him she knew then that this was the path she wanted to travel down in life.

Lindsay left the vets office to join the team at Love Your Pet and she now enjoys the day to day interaction with all the pets and looks forward to becoming a part of your pets life.
