Jacqueline "Jax" Hoggard

Jacqueline 'Jax' is originally from Ontario and recently graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Animal Science. She grew up on a farm with dogs, cats, horses, cows, and chickens but her passion extends to wildlife and exotic animals. Since she was 16 years old, she has worked at zoos in both Canada and Australia.

She has hand-raised wolves, foxes, bobcats, lions, cougars and more, all of which required 24 hour care in her own home. During the summers while in school she travelled to Australia, to work with venomous animals, and to Golden, BC, to work with wolves, until just recently moving to Calgary to work at the Calgary Zoological Society as a Natural History Interpreter for Koalas.

Due to her transient life style up until now she does not have a dog or pets of her own, but she hopes to make Calgary a more permanent residence. Surrounding herself with all kinds of animals, the Zoo and 'Love Your Pet' has promise to make Calgary a great new home with the mountains close by!
